Baby steps…
Belated Happy Easter to everyone! We had a wonderful Holy week and it was capped by a Blessed Easter Sunday… I’ll talk about it in another post this week…
Easter is about celebrating with new beginnings… This time around though, it’s another baby step in the wonderful world of parenthood. And seeing Sky’s readiness in using the potty occasionally - today officially marks the start of his potty training.
With numerous amounts of Potty Training methods that’s available online, I decided to not follow a specific one. Instead, I chose styles from different methods and tailored it to Sky’s adaptability… Meaning, I have to be FLEXIBLE
However, I do stick to a routine of asking him to use the potty as soon as he wakes up (when he’s in a good mood), right before nap time in the afternoon, and once in the evening before going to sleep.
There are times though that he doesn’t feel like “going”, and that’s just fine by me. In the coming weeks though, I’ll particularly increase the frequency of just letting him “sit” in the potty. Just to get him more comfortable in using it.
As for the equipment, I have bought a couple of local potty chairs before… But, they both fell… Uuuhhmm, well…”SHORT”… Sky’s pee just shoots out whenever he tries to “shoot it in”. So, when I went out of the country last month, getting a decent potty chair was one of my top priorities.
I found the BABYBJÖRN Potty chair in white at Babies ‘R Us. It’s quite expensive at US$29.45, but it was well worth it. It wasn’t very intimidating for him to use – AND it looked like a miniature toilet seat. (He has asked me to use his “potty” several times – and I politely declined, while trying hold my laughter to myself
) And it’s easy to clean too.

AND his pee goes where it’s supposed to be… inside his potty!

Swerte talaga ng mga bata ngayon. These little potty chairs are brilliant! I’m now more confident that my kids will never have the same harrowing experience I had… when I fell in the inidoro a couple of times. (According to Mom)

Hhahahaha… Na-imagine ko yung “cartoon” mo na lumusot sa toilet bowl! But you’re right – kid’s (including mother’s) are lucky these days. With the convenience of nice potty chairs and diapers. I have no complaints even if I slept a little when I was taking care of Sky when he was still a baby!

Equivalent nga sa apat na potty chair yan! Kaya dapat sulitin hanggang 10 years old siya! Hahaha
Hirap pa dalhin pauwi sa Manila – ang bulky kasi! Pero, ang layo nga lang ng finish niya sa local potty chairs sa atin.
